Reconstruction Site
The three films that comprise Reconstruction Site are a document of an unraveling;
An untying of the knots of a familial karmic inheritance.
What begins as a quiet unfolding of a narrative surrounding loss, history, memory, and nation; Ends in the transformative and purifying fires of forgiveness and letting go.
Michelle Lee Salnaitis is a student of language, more so a student of silences and that which words cannot reach. It is her desire and longing to find word or image to articulate the seemingly incommunicable tender blind spots of the human condition. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Fine Arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
