In this most recent installment of paintings, Jared combined a variety of processes in an effort to create a narrative considering the idea of origins and how this relates to the evolution of each individual’s story. While Jared’s primary focus is on paintings. He will often use various media to achieve the desired results. The process of collaging, illustrating, painting, deconstructing, and repeating, allows him to analyze the idea that we are all constantly spilling in and out of each others lives, affecting the outcome at every turn. In keeping with this theme. He has developed a series of work created using the book materials in conjunction with found items, his own printed text, paint, graphite and canvas. The lighthearted and whimsical group of anthropomorphic paintings depicting humans with animal heads is offset by another series of collaged and painted vignettes dealing with duality of upbringing and self-discovery: the idea of provenance and how our surroundings and landscapes play into the evolvement of our own unique narrative. In this dreamlike real where each story is like a book that has been deconstructed and rearranged, the viewer is given the opportunity to fill in the blanks and draw their own conclusions from the sometimes vague and illusive imagery
