Dreams By Sarah Kaufman

By Sarah Kaufman

June 3, 2017 – June 24, 2017

Opening Reception:

First Saturday Gallery Crawl: June 3, 2017; 6-9pm

Blend Studio will be hosting new works by Sarah Kaufman during the month of June. The artist will be available on the opening night of the First Saturday Art Crawl.

Sarah Kaufman’s paintings are dream-like images and stories.  People and animals move precariously through her paintings using contraptions, carried by birds, or balancing on stilts. The paintings combine deep textures and vigorous abstract fields of color with finely detailed figures painted in oil to create both a beautiful surface and a surreal narrative.

“I want my paintings to transport people to a different way of seeing and feeling about our journeys in life.  Each piece is a story, and people find their own ways to interpret the narratives.”

Sarah completed a BFA in painting at the University of Memphis, as well as a Master of Education. After college she traveled around China, Europe, and Central America, teaching and painting. Sarah currently lives with her family in Nashville, Tennessee. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections internationally.
