Artist Statement:
My Stargate series is a guiding tool for metaphysical awakening and a modality for healing. With parallels to how traditional mandalas are made, each Stargate is set with an intention, has a center point that expands outward, and is within a framework, suggesting the parameters of the physical world we live in. They are numbered to mark a moment in time.
I practice advanced Reiki and transmit my artwork with healing energy. Crushed quartz crystals are included in the under-painting and each piece is created through a meditative process of layering paint and fabric. The materials transcend into a viewing experience and function as an energy vortex. By developing these works on a metaphysical level I am able to offer that expansion of awareness to the audience.
Each Stargate can be activated further when the viewer sets their individual intentions for the work and meditates with it. Energy follows thought and these works carry a consciousness. It is my goal to provide the viewers of my artwork the opportunity to ring like a bell of awareness, self-empowerment, and clarity.
