Chelsea Velaga will have a series of new mixed media work titled Hotblood Shamanism. It will be exhibited at Blend Studio during the art crawl Saturday June 2th, 2018 from 6 to 9 PM. The artist will be available on the opening night of the First Saturday Art Crawl.
Artist Statement:
Hotblood shamanism
That big cat (or two), uninterested in any kind,
Found something while your were in the bathroom.
Shame red and baby blue
A drop shadow
Trying to stay in line
Weaponized mark making machine- –
This is permanent
But we’ll turn that second dash into a wicked clown. Speaking,
My mother was a jellyfish, so I got this jellyfish to remind you of her
Plump stinger.
Not many people know this
But she’s a blonde, and a redhead too!
Right twitch good
Left twitch bad
Can this wait until after I mod my hairs?
What time is it
When old old women start acting
Like young young girls
Around big grinning fellows
